TEAM

To make a still better product out of a good idea, capable and operational heads are needed who are ready to spend a lot of time with the project – researches for the concept of the content, a functional realization of the material components and an attractive product design. After the project has started, the team has been growed – with all excellent partners from various countries.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The following people have initiated and developed the project Donut Hockey. They coordinate all activities around the new game, such as courses, instructors education, cooperations, ambassadorships and communication. And they are responsible to watch over the production of materials.

Muriel teaches for 20 years at school with enthusiasm, publishes the successful series of books „Burner Motion“ since 2013 and develops products for more movement in everyday life. The wish for an attractive game which is easy to learn, but has the quality of a lifetime sport, led to the development of Donut Hockey.

Marco has built up the University Sport of Basel during 27 years. Through his professional activities he has an enormous practical experience in school sports and sport associations area through different institutions. He is president of the Sports Advisory Board of the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Since 2013 Marco is running the startup Burner Motion together with Muriel Sutter.

As a professor, member of the departmental management of the DSBG of the University of Basel as well as departmental head in training sciences Lukas has already realised numerous projects. Since 2013 Lukas is involved in the board of Burner Motion and supports Donut Hockey as an adviser and networker.

Christian is a passionate basketball coach. As an expert and lecturer in the DSBG of the University of Basel hedeveloped his own model for an optimum acquisition of skills in team sports. Since 2013 Chris is involved in the management board of Burner Motion and supported the development of the teaching manual.

INSTRUCTORS

On saturday 14.5.2017 the first Donut Hockey Instructors passed their Basic education. During summer 2017 they performed their first season teaching and coaching kids, teens and adults in courses, camps and competitions. The Donut Hockey Ambassadors are independent partners of Burner Motion promoting the new sport in their countries. We all have a close cooperation and do a lot of exchange to go on developing the game, the rules and the material. More information about their activities will follow soon!

Stephano Tsai is a recognised expert full of passion about sport pedagogy in his career, especially in novel sport teaching. The Department for Sports, Movement and Health of Basel University presents Donut Hockey since spring 2017 within the focus subject „Trends in Fitness- and Wellness“ of the bachelor studies. Several students assist the development of Donut Hockey by their Bachelor thesis.

Donut Hockey is perfectly suitable to establish tactical competences in all hockey games, due to its structural and tactical similarity to Ice Hockey, connected with an extra low technical skill level. For this reason Donut Hockey is actually uses as an off ice training within all running camps of the Ochsner Ice Hockey Academy.

After his Ice Hockey player career Sacha Ochsner entered the family enterprise for hockey material. The quite undisputed Swiss “hockey-material king” has looked after the development of the Donut Hockey material personally. The cult graffiti artist BOOGIE from the Erzgebirge is specialized in the representation of food – his favourite meal is … DONUTS! Thus it was clear quite at the beginning of the project, that he should accept the responsibility for the design of Donut Hockey. With a lot of love to the details Andre has designed the products – from the teaching manual to sticks, masks, rings up to shirts and accessories.
